When sending us your photograph to make a canvas picture, following these tips will ensure you get a good result.

You can send us digital files, negatives or transparencies. If you only have a print of the photograph you want, we may not be able to use it.

This is because most prints don't contain enough detail to be enlarged and give a top quality result. However, if you have a very large print, or don't mind about the loss of detail, then we can use your print.

If you are not sure what you have, or would like more advice, please call us for help on 01246 472 949 or email

Tips for getting a good picture

  1. Choose a good quality image
If the photograph is sharp and high-resolution, it will be able to be enlarged to make a beautiful canvas picture. If it is out-of-focus, or low-resolution, it won't create a good canvas picture.
  2. Make sure there is room around the image allowing for the wrap
Our pictures ‘wrap' your image around a deep box frame, so anything near the edge of your picture will appear on the side of the picture.
  3.

  4. The higher the resolution of your image, the bigger the picture you can order
  5. Send digital images on CD or DVD as a .tiff file or a maximum quality .jpg
Call or email us if you need further technical information on the format of digital images.
  6. Ensure you have the right to copy the photograph.
If you did not take it yourself, get permission from the person who took it as they have legal ‘copyright'. The Canvas Art Company cannot accept responsibility if you do not follow this advice.
